After devoting the bulk of a long career to commercial art, both as an illustrator and advertising director, Lloyd Riedling has, in recent years, made an impressive entrée into the field of fine art.

A native of New Orleans, he drew initially by instinct, “It seems that I have always been able to draw, even as a child,” said Riedling. “If I could see it, I could draw it accurately. He then honed his talent over many years, through practical experience for a number of large commercial firms engaged in retail trade.

His early career as an illustrator for advertising brought him considerable attention in New Orleans and Los Angeles, but he veered off the path of illustration to the more lucrative position of advertising director some years ago.

Riedling has recently painted steadily, developing his skill as a mature and gifted fine artist.  What’s more, his career as an advertising director has imbued him with a strong sense of composition, a quality that is reflected convincingly in the striking oils in his current portfolio.

In the past  several years, Riedling has created large canvases in oil.The sizes range from 30 ”x 40” to 48” x 72”, most being 36” x 48”. All are in a realistic style, some with surrealistic subject matter. The originals must be seen in person to fully appreciate the attention to detail and level of craftsmanship. All paintings are also available as fine quality signed and numbered, limited edition giclees.
